No. Simply registering and participating will not result in a visa or a work permit. The platform can help you learn about Newfoundland and Labrador’s immigration programs, seek employment and be potentially hired by a Newfoundland and Labrador-based employer. With a full-time job in our province, you might be eligible for a visa, work permit or permanent residency.
What is the process for immigrating to Newfoundland & Labrador?
A candidate for permanent residency in Newfoundland and Labrador must have a full-time job or job offer in our province to apply to any of our two immigration programs. Once your application has been approved by Newfoundland and Labrador, you will apply to Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residency and a work permit (if needed). Do I need a Labour Market Impact Assessment?
You do not need a Labour Market Impact Assessment—or LIMA—to register. Your employer might choose to get an LMIA, but this is not needed as Newfoundland and Labrador’s immigration programs have LMIA-exempt work permit options.
