Your pathway to immigration.
Thinking about immigrating to Canada? Newfoundland and Labrador has several options to help you build your permanent home and career in our province.
Economic Immigration Programs
Newfoundland and Labrador has two pathways to Permanent Residency for international applicants with skills, experience, education and interest in settling permanently in Newfoundland and Labrador. You can bring family members with you!
These programs require that you have a job or job offer in the province prior to applying. To learn more about in-demand career fields and finding a job in Newfoundland and Labrador, visit our Career Opportunities page.
The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) supports skilled workers with jobs or job offers in the province and their dependants. There are several streams included in the program, including Express Entry, which is an expedited pathway for highly skilled applicants.
If you qualify, you will submit your application directly through the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism.
The Atlantic Immigration Program, or AIP, is a partnership between the Government of Canada and the four Atlantic Canadian provinces. It lets employers in Newfoundland and Labrador hire qualified candidates for jobs that they have not been able to fill locally.
If you accept a job offer from a qualified employer, that employer will submit an endorsement application on your behalf.
International Entrepreneurship Stream
If you have a business start-up idea or want to buy an existing business in Newfoundland and Labrador, you may be eligible for the NLPNP’s International Entrepreneurship Stream.
This option is available to individuals who intend to own and operate a business and permanently reside in Newfoundland and Labrador.
To qualify, you must have at least five years of experience as an entrepreneur or a senior business manager and an accumulated net worth of $600,000 CAD.
